Welcome to the Manual High School Yearbook Site

Emmerich Manual High School went five years without yearbooks (Ivians) until a group of alumni decided that was unacceptable. We raised the funds to publish the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 yearbooks and are working on the 2020 edition - our 11th year of this project. The cover of the 2014 Ivian is below. All books have been (and will be) of the highest quality.

For those who wonder, IVIAN is clearly printed on the binder edge. Below are some of the Manual National Honor Society students. Alumni funded the club's reappearance at Manual. Thanks to all who gave to that project.

A $25 contribution will provide one graduating senior with a year book. $50 will save memories for two graduates. $100 will be a blessing to 2020 grads looking back at teenage memories when they reach our age. If you can afford $5, that is great. If a $500 contribution fits your budget, that is equally great. Whatever amount you can afford to contribute to the Manual Yearbook Project will be greatly appreciated. If you can't squeeze in a contribution, think about volunteering to help with the yearbook or attending a Manual event to show support for the kids -- or just send some good thoughts in Manual's direction.

MANUAL HIGH SCHOOL YEARBOOK PROJECT – 2020

As you recall, Manual students had not had a yearbook (Ivian) for five years. Kids went all the way through high school without a yearbook. A good-hearted and hard-working guy named Chuck Williams from the Class of 1964 decided that was simply unacceptable. He knew that the many memories you and I cherish so much, we find in our Ivians of old. Chuck planned and priced the 2010 Ivian, took the photos for it, talked a teacher into helping, and they found a few students to work on it. The end product was just great and you can see samples on following pages. We came back and did it all over again for the 2011, 2012, 2013 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 2018 & 2019 Ivians with strong student participation.

For the last ten years graduating seniors have received a free Ivian (thanks to you) and undergraduates received one at a reduced cost. We have raised $11,000 to $15,000 to cover the costs each year since 2010.

NOW IT IS TIME TO START OVER FOR 2020.

Ms. Nora Evans is the faculty yearbook adviser and she has a for-credit class for students working on the 2020 Ivian. The 2019 Ivian was one of he best yearbooks we have funded. The students can do all the work but they need our help in providing the necessary funds. In 2011, the Class of 1954 contributed $1,000 from their class fund. In 2010, the Class of 1959 contributed $1,000 from their leftover 50th reunion funds. The class of 1953 raised funds for this project at their 60th reunion. Hopefully, classes who have funds left from their 50th reunion will consider making such a contribution for the 2020 edition of the Ivian. But, as always, it all starts with each of us as individual Manual High School supporters.

Please send your contribution, in any amount you are comfortable giving, payable to the "Manual Alumni Assn"  as soon as possible. Mark “yearbook project” on the memo line. Send your contributions to:

I will record them so we know how our group is doing and forward them on to Willie Overton, the alumni association treasurer, who will pay the bills.
